Healthy Food For Diabetes Prevention

Many people today suffer from Diabetes mainly because a poor diet over a period of time. Every time you turn around, there is news on what food isn't good for you, or what foods to stay away from. Having diabetes doesn't make this any easier at all, with fast food restaurants on every corner and high sugar foods that people consume on a regular basis. With all these diseases showing up more and more in people because of poor diets, its no wonder time and time again there is a new fad diet that comes out, then goes away. Leaving people where they were before the fad diet even came out. Diabetes isn't any different then your basic over weight problems. They both can be prevented.

Here are some tips on preventing diabetes as well as keeping your weight down. We have all heard eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, but try picking all the colors of the rainbow to see the biggest health benefits. You don't have to just eat vegetables by themselves, have them on the side with every meal. Eat whole grain foods, and not processed grains. For example, eat brown rice instead of white, and try whole wheat spaghetti, not the high starch content spaghetti that has been processed. Fish is a big part of eating healthy and preventing diseases such as diabetes. If you don't like fish, you only need to eat fish about 2 times a week which isn't a big deal at all. Eat lean meat. Don't eat the skin on the chicken or turkey, and cut as much fat off the meat as you can. Here is a big one... Stop drinking diet sodas, they are actually worse for you then regular sodas. Drink more water, and lay off the fruit punch and koolaid drinks.

If you do have diabetes, stay away from eating fast foods. Fast foods are the biggest contributers to diabetes, most people don't tell you this but it is true. Ever notice the amount of people getting diabetes has gone up ever since fast food restaurants become more and more popular? Or the fact that people tend to get diabetes more today then back in the days where food wasn't processed? It's because of the way we eat today that diabetes has become so prevalent. The good news is, that diabetes can actually be prevented and even reversed. Like anything else, having the right information saves you from going through all the hassle of doing the research and having to go through trial and error finding out what really does work. Diabetes is a huge problem today, and many people are looking for the TRUE answers on how to battle this, and win.
